On the 12th of September last year, the sad news was announced that Sir Terence Conran had passed away. Having been instrumental in big changes in the furniture world in the post-war era he was also famously known for opening the chain of Habitat stores. The first store opened in Chelsea in 1964 and the staff wore uniforms designed by Mary Quant and hairstyles were by Vidal Sassoon. In Kilcroney, we do not have quite such luxurious expectations of our team, but we do have a fabulous wallpaper commissioned by Mrs. Anny Verwijs which still adorns our wall on the left of the entrance. Famously known for always having a cigar in his photos, Anny politely requested that it be removed from our image!
We now only have five pieces of furniture left from his designs and we have been told these are now discontinued.
They are beautiful sofas and a gorgeous designer swivel chair so any discerning customer would be well advised to purchase soon and have a Terence Conran piece adorning your home. The Pale Mint velvet is available in a three-seater and a two-seater and we have two Aster Three-seater sofas in a speckled charcoal grey.
